
The Pleasantville boys wrestling team will travel to Sigourney for their Class 1A District Meet today as the girls basketball team will host Cardinal in their opening round of regional play.
The Trojan boys wrestling team will compete at Sigourney High School as several individuals will look to punch their ticket to the Iowa High School Boys State Wrestling Tournament. Pleasantville’s site will feature Sigourney/Keota, BGM, Columbus/Winfield Mt. Union, Highland, Iowa Valley, Jesup, Louisa Muscatine, Van Buren County, and Wapello. Today’s district meet starts at 10:00 am.
The Pleasantville girls basketball team will host Cardinal in the opening round of Class 2A Region 6 play. The Trojan girls finished the regular season with a 10-11 overall record and are coming off a win over Interstate 35 on Tuesday and will take on a 8-13 Comets squad who lost to Columbus in their last game. The Trojan girls are led in scoring by freshman Liv Klootwyk who is averaging 11.6 points per game. Tonight’s regional contest in Pleasantville will start at 7:00 pm and the winner will face Mount Ayr.
