Coal Miner’s Day is today in Melcher-Dallas. Events run all day – the full schedule is below:

8:00/9:00 5K Registration/5K Start
9:00 Coal Miner’s Museum opens
10:00 Sidewalk chalk contest in front of library. Show up to enter.
10:30 American Legion flag raising/dedication to soldiers, Evan Mitchell singing National An…them in front of bank
11:00 PARADE/M-D Drill team after parade in front of Northcote’s
12:00 Fire Dept. dinner
Car Show in high school parking lot
12:00 – 1:00 “M-D’s Got Talent” show in gazebo (sign up early at local merchants or the day of at the shelter house
1:00 Mud Volleyball/sign up at Noon at fire station or pre-register at Caseys/Softball Tourney
1:00 – 3:00 The band 3rd Generation (on stage)
1:00 Kids water fights (at fire station)
1:00 Mercy One landing on heli-pad
2:00 Mutton Bustin’ and Wool Spinning in park/All Alumni & Community Open House at High School Cafeteria
3:00 – 5:00 “M-D’s Got Talent” show on the stage (sign up same as above)
3:00 Pie eating contest on stage (sign up at shelter house)
4:00 Barbeque cook off judging
5:00 Barbeque cook off public judging $3.00 a plate
5:00 Fire Dept. raffle drawing
6:00 Pitch Tournament at shelter house (sign up at shelter house) All Day fun events: Smitty’s Kids Amusement- blow up rides, train rides, small ferris wheel, kettle corn. M-D FFA sponsoring Jim Walling Pony Rides and miniature horses. Numerous vendors selling merchandise of all kinds. Lions Club Bingo starting after parade, coin toss contest at 10 am and 2:30 pm. Kids games on tennis court.
