
Twenty high schools came together to kick off the marching band competition season Saturday at the Pella Marching Dutch Invitational.
The 16th annual event featured bands from Class 1A to 4A, including Knoxville, PCM, and Newton. The Marching Dutch performed in exhibition to conclude the evening before awards.
Knoxville placed 4th in Class 3A with a score of 69.1. Newton placed 6th in Class 4A with a score of 66.225.

In Class 2A, PCM won Outstanding Visual Performance and placed 3rd. The Mustangs also won a combined championship with the Urbandale Marching Invitational.
