
For the second straight year, the Melcher-Dallas Volleyball Squad was forced to go the full five sets with arch-rival Twin Cedars and like last year, the Sabers came out on top winning 3-2. The Saints jumped on top winning set one 25-23, but Twin Cedars came back to take sets two and three 25-16 and 25-22 forcing the Saints to win two sets. Melcher-Dallas forced set five with a 25-20 win in set four, but was unable to pull off the comeback falling in set five 15-8. Kesley Reed had 15 kills to go along with 12/12 serving with one ace. Maddy DeJong had seven kills and 15 digs, Sophie Lamb was 24/25 with an ace. Melcher-Dallas is 5-8 on the season and will travel to Moulton-Udell on Thursday.
While Melcher-Dallas was playing volleyball, the Melcher-Dallas Cross Country Squads were running in Chariton on Tuesday. Amber Addington ran a PR in 24:14 while Alice Lamb’s time was 27:10. For the boys, Trace Mann set a new PR with a time of 20:07 and Tristan Steele also ran a PR of 25:51. The Saints will prepare for the Bluegrass Conference Meet on Monday.
