
The Norwalk boys and girls cross country teams competed at the Fort Dodge Invitational on Thursday, with the boys coming in fifth place and the girls placing ninth.
Norwalk senior Teegan Kralik came in sixth place in the boys’ race with a time of 15:42. Senior Sam Parker finished 10th with a time of 16:08, and junior Aksel Beedon placed 28th with a time of 16:31. Brayden Walderbach and Sam Buhrow also cracked the top-50, placing 36th and 48th, respectively.
For the Warrior girls, freshman Hannah Schmitz led the way, placing 21st with a time of 19:21. Sophomores Olive DeRocher and Gabby Drymon finished 32nd and 41st with times of 19:43 and 19:53, while senior Pearl Brown placed 63rd.
The Norwalk cross country teams’ next race at the Little Hawkeye Conference Meet on Tuesday, which will take place at Pickard Park in Indianola, where the Warriors ran two weeks ago. The girls will race at 4:15, with the boys to follow.
