The Pella Christian volleyball team wrapped up the regular season Saturday by going 2-2 at the Knoxville Invitational.

The Eagles struggled out of the gate in their first match of the tournament, dropping the first set to Class 4A #11 Ballard 21-8, but bounced back to pull off the upset by winning sets two and three 21-11 and 15-12. Pella Christian then added their second three-set victory of the day in their second match, defeating Decorah 16-21, 21-19, 15-9. The Eagles were tripped up by Class 2A #6 Union in the final match of pool play, falling 21-12, 25-23, but advanced to the single-elimination championship bracket by taking second place in their pool. Pella Christian faced their third ranked opponent of the day in the semifinals of the four-team championship bracket, but fell in that matchup against Class 3A #12 Roland-Story 22-20, 21-14 to finish the tournament.

Pella Christian ends the regular season with an overall record of 13-16, and will begin Class 3A Region 3 action by hosting South Tama on Tuesday at 7 pm.
