The Red Rock Volleyball Rivalry will take a step up tonight as Knoxville travels to Pella in the class 4A Regional Semifinal. Panthers swept Carlisle in 1st round action on Tuesday while Pella earned the bye and will host the Panthers. The two teams played in a Saturday Invitational in the Tulip City a few weeks ago with Pella winning in two sets. The last time the two rivals met in a full dual match was in the class 4A regional semifinal when the Panthers won in Knoxville three sets to one. While the recent history in the series does not favor Knoxville, Pella leading in the Bound Era 33-5, Panther Juniors Addy Dunkin and Ayla Williams are fully aware of what is in front of them…
Addy: “Think it’s just playing our game and we’ll be good, We know Pella is a team you shouldn’t overlook but we’re a team that can’t be overlooked either and just play the way we know how to.”
Ayla: “Playing together is our biggest thing as Knoxville Volleyball and if we come together and do that we can overcome anything.”
Tonight’s action is set for 7:00. The winners will get the survivor of the Waverly-Shell Rock and Webster City match on Tuesday at a site to be determined after the semifinals are played.
