The Pella City Council’s regular meeting was held on Monday due to today’s election.
During the meeting, the council held two public hearings related to an extension of the Fountain Hills development. The hearings were for an urban renewal plan and development agreement related to 47 new buildable lots for single family homes and tax increment financing to pay for infrastructure. After the public hearings, the council approved a resolution to determine that area of the city to be an economic development area, and approved a development agreement between the city of Pella and Larry and Rosemary DeVries. The council also approved a consulting services agreement with Greenwood Consulting related to a stormwater management program study, a final plat for Prairie Ridge West, and an offsite easement at that site. Additionally, the City Council approved the first reading of two ordinances to amend solid waste fees and Pella Fiber rates.
The meeting concluded with the discussion of a proposed ordinance to regulate camping and the storage of personal property in public spaces throughout the City of Pella.
