Two people were injured in a head-on collision in Pella on Tuesday morning. The Iowa State Patrol reports a 2023 Sante Fe driven by 59-year-old Sandra Kay Mullins of Arizona was traveling westbound on Washington Street and crossed the center line. That vehicle collided with a Pacifica driven by 37-year-old Syndee Marie Van Wyk of Pella. The report indicates CPR was performed on Mullins before she was transported by helicopter to a Des Moines hospital. Van Wyk was transported by Pella Ambulance to Pella Regional. Washington Street was closed for just over two hours.
