Simpson scored 11 runs in the seventh inning of today’s winners bracket championship game to beat St. Benedict of Minnesota 12-6 as heard live on 94.3 KNIA. The Storm will play in tomorrow’s regional final, once again against St. Ben’s.
The Bennies ended Central’s season by scoring four runs in the seventh inning, taking advantage of two uncharacteristic Dutch errors to win 4-0. Earlier in the day, the Dutch played an elimination game against Greenville, which Central won 11-5. Both Dutch games were broadcast on 92.1 KRLS. After a Rylee Dunkin leadoff home run, Greenville scored four runs in the bottom of the first, but Central scored the next 10 to take control.
Central finishes their season at 30-14. Tomorrow’s Simpson versus St. Ben’s matchup begins at 11am and will be broadcast live on 94.3 KNIA.
