The Pella Christian baseball team has this weekend off to rest – and they’ll need it – as they prepare to take on some of the top teams in the Little Hawkeye Conference next week. The Eagles currently sit at 4-2 in the league standings, and Head Coach Brad Rolffs says he expects his team to maintain the confidence that they can keep winning games and challenge for a conference title.
“We’re going to keep fighting for it. The thing that the guys really need to look at is that both games that we’ve lost in the conference – we were up by quite a ways at some time in both of those games – and both of those were games we could have won,” said Rolffs. “We’re playing well in the conference, and the guys think we still have a chance – and we do.”
Pella Christian begins the coming week just across town at Pella High before hosting a series of home games that include non-conference opponent Carlisle on Tuesday and league foes Norwalk and Knoxville on Wednesday and Friday, respectively.
