Indianola Boys Tennis Senior Ben Rehmeier is heading to the state tournament after a second place finish at the 2A District at Prairie High School. Rehmeier is 10-4 on the season and Indians Head Coach Jamie Busby says there’s nobody more deserving than Bryson getting a chance to compete at the state tournament.
“He got hooked up with Coach Reid Reiter, who is now our assistant coach. He did some lessons that summer before he was on staff with Bryson, and he just played tennis anytime he could. He got anybody he could find to go out and hit with him. I know he ran his dad around the courts. Anybody he could find to play tennis. He was out there on the courts at Simpson or at the high school, and he just put the time in and really earned this state berth.”
The boys state tennis tournament is scheduled for May 27-28 in Iowa City.
