The City of Knoxville will hold a free leaf and yard waste collection day on May 9th and 10th.

Residents can dispose of their yard waste at 309 W Reno Street from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm on Saturday, May 9th, and Noon – 4:00 pm on Sunday, May 10th. Only regular residential yard waste will be accepted, including twigs, shrubbery, branches, leaves, and tree trimmings. Limbs must be less than three feet long and can easily be carried by one person. Material not accepted includes dirt, rock, gravel, litter, and tree stumps. Plastic bags will also not be accepted, as leaves need to be in a paper bag. City Manager Heather Ussery says this event was pushed back to a later date this year.

“It’s a little bit later this year than it was in years past. The year has gotten away from us, so we just wanted to make sure we are getting that information out that people can drop off their leaf and yard waste again this year, but it will be May 9th and 10th.”

Any questions regarding the event can be directed to Knoxville City Hall.
