The Jasper County Board of Supervisors are working with Co-Line Manufacturing of rural Lynnville on a project that would create a self-serve fueling station on Jasper County property along County Road T-33. Jasper County Economic Development Corporation Executive Director Jeff Davidson says the fueling station was originally targeted for land the company already owned in Mahaska County.
“This relates to an overall effort that we have had in Jasper County to try and get Co-Line Manufacturing more oriented towards our side. And obviously what’s good for Co-Line is good for everybody. But we would like to see as much of the taxable value on our side of the county line as possible.”
As part of the project, the county would help pay for needed road improvements, which could include the addition of a turn-lane on County Highway T-33 by the fueling station. A cost estimate for that turn lane has yet to be completed.
