Competing at the Little Hawkeye Conference Tournament Tuesday, the Pella Christian boys tennis team finished in sixth place with 16 total points.

Highlighting the day for the Eagles was a fourth place finish from the tandem of Luke Schreur and Sam Acquaviva in flight two doubles. The duo won their first match 6-4, 6-4 over Ethan Stek and Reuben Chilcote of Oskaloosa, but fell in the semifinals to the top seeds from Dallas Center-Grimes and then lost the third-place match to the number two seed from Pella. Owen Ver Hoef added the other victory for Pella Christian on the afternoon, winning the fifth-place match in flight two singles over Newton’s Keegan Brenthauer 6-4, 6-4. Jayden Lee and the duo of Liam Zula and Blake Gallaher also competed in the first flights of singles and doubles, and each took 6th place in their respective brackets.

The Pella Christian boys tennis team wraps up regular season play at home against Clarke on Thursday, before beginning postseason action on Saturday at Pella’s Caldwell Park.
