
Three Pleasantville varsity athletic teams were in action Tuesday.
The Pleasantville girls golf team finished third at a quad hosted by PCM at Gateway Recreation that also featured Nevada and Saydel. The Trojans placed third with a team score of 231 at the nine-hole event. The top individual finisher for the Trojans was Miranda Benge who shot a 53 to finish seventh. The PCM girls girls golf team will next compete on Thursday at home.
The Pleasantville girls track and field teams competed at the Pella Christian Invitational. The Trojan boys finished fifth with a team score of 69 as they competed against eight other schools. Top finishers for the Trojan boys include Ethan King winning the 200 meter and taking second in the 100 meter, Will Mesecher placing second in the discus and shot put, and the sprint medley and 4X200 meter relay taking third.
The Pleasantville girls finished eighth with a team score of 53 competing alongside nine other schools. Top individual finishers for the Trojan girls include Lilian Mason taking fourth in the 100 hurdles, and the distance medley and 4X400 meter relay placing second.
