
Four Pleasantville varsity athletic teams were in action on Thursday.
The Pleasantville boys golf team placed first at the Mohawk Classic hosted by Moravia at Albia Golf. The Trojans shot 314 as a team at the 18-hole event as they competed against 12 other schools. The top individual score for the Trojan boys was Lincoln Card who was the meet medalist with a 76. Hudson Furnal placed fourth with a 79 and Kayne Brent took fifth with a 79 while Caylor Jones placed seventh with a 80.
The Pleasantville girls golf team placed fourth at a home quad at Pleasantville Golf and Country Club that also featured PCM, Carlisle, and Martensdale St. Marys. The Trojan girls finished with a team score of 235 at the nine-hole event. The top individual score for the Trojans was Miranda Benge who finished tenth with a score of 51 and Sophia Calhoun who placed 14th with a 54. The Pleasantville girls golf team will be back home on Monday.
The Pleasantville boys and girls track and field teams competed at Central Decatur competing against 13 other schools. The Trojan boys won the meet with a team score of 105. Top individual finishers for the Pleasantville boys include Ethan King winning the 100 meter dash and 200 meter dash, Blake Rowson winning the 400, Will Mesecher taking second in the shot put and discus, the 4X400 meter relay placing first, and the 4X100 meter relay and distance medley taking second.
The Trojan girls took sixth with a team score of 66. Top individual finishers for the Pleasantville girls include Summer Isley placing second in the 1500 meter, Ryleigh Hardman taking third in the 400 hurdles, Lilian Mason placing fourth in the 100 hurdles, and the shuttle hurdle relay and 4X100 meter relay taking second.
