Many candidates have been in the area promoting themselves. Former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum was in Knoxville and Pella again Saturday, with an appearance at the Knoxville Sprint Car Hall of Fame at 2:00 PM, and at 3:00 PM at the Pella Public Library. Santorum has recently started to gain momentum in Iowa, though he still trails in polls statewide when compared to the front runners Ron Paul, and Mitt Romney who are going back and forth for the lead in Iowa. The divides between the Republican field in recent polls however, and the constant shifts in the field make the race tough to call. For those north of the river in Marion county, the Republican caucus will be held at Pella Christan High School and for those south of the river, the Republican Caucus will be at Knoxville High School. The doors at both locations will open at 6:00 with the actual process set to start at 7:00.
