Over 700 kids in Knoxville qualify for free and reduced lunches during the school year, but those kids’ hunger doesn’t take a summer vacation.
Knoxville School Nurse Angie Mitchell and Ruthann Burkman, Counselor at West Elementary, are examining the feasibility of partnering with the USDA Summer Food Service Program. Those interested in learning more about the project, or in helping, are invited to attend the next meeting tonight at 6:30pm at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
