The Knoxville Chamber of Commerce has announced the hiring of a new staff member.

Joann Schissel will work closely with Mary Spurgeon and the Board of Directors. She will help with membership, communication and office duties. Schissel moved to Knoxville from the Des Moines area. She has been a graphic designer, marketing communications and customer experience specialist. For the past five years she has worked as an independent marketing contractor and spent three years at the Greater Des Moines Partnership as Internet and Communications Manager. Incoming Chamber President Jake Hughes says the Chamber is excited to be bringing someone with Schissel’s experience into their office and hopes her skills will translate into even better engagement and services. Schissel started in the position last week.
