
The Knoxville City Council met in regular session Monday. The council approved the signing of the DOT Title Six Agreement for the city of Knoxville Trails Project which was needed to comply with the DOT’s grant approval requirements. They approved the use of the Knoxville Fire Department memorial funds to be used to purchase new uniform shirts. The council approved the first reading while waiving second and third readings of an ordinance amending the code of ordinances for the city regarding the sanitary user charge system. The amendment gets rid of the user charge system and instead the city will go with a heavier fine based system. The council also approved a resolution setting the salaries and wages for appointed officers and non-collective bargaining unit employees of the city for the fiscal year beginning July 1st.
