Simpson College women’s tennis athlete Anna Wanek was named the league’s Most Valuable Player as voted on by the conference’s nine head coaches recently, while head coach Faith Bliss earned Coach of the Year honors. Wanek is the first MVP winner for Simpson since 1996, and earned a perfect 14-0 record in singles while going 8-3 in doubles play, also earning Conference Player of the Week three times this fall to become the first player in team history to receive three weekly honors and first since 2001 to earn multiple.
Bliss led the squad to a 7-4 overall record and 5-3 conference mark to finish third, with the five league victories the most in a season since the Storm went 5-4 in 2008-09.
