Dutch Senior Mason Wittmer set 20 Washington Demons down in a row to wrap up the final regular season baseball game at Pella High School in a 4-1 win Monday.
Wittmer threw a complete game two-hitter gem with 12 strikeouts in only 76 pitches. After retiring the lead off batter in the 1st, he gave up a double and a single followed by an RBI groundout–the first of 20 batters in a row he retired to finish the game.
Tate Weesner came up with the game winning hit for Pella in the 6th, lining a single up the middle to score 2 runs. Pollock added another run scoring single to score Weesner a few batters later to complete the scoring.
Pella improves to 19-15 and will try for win No. 20 of the summer at ADM this evening in the final regular season Tulip City sporting event of the academic year.
