Another week and another ranked matchup in the Little Hawkeye Conference at Pella High School, but this Tuesday, the home team flipped the script on a disappointing week one showing as No. 14 Pella defeated No. 11 Norwalk 3-1 (25-20, 22-25, 25-10, 25-19) Tuesday night.
What started as a close match in the first two sets quickly turned into Dutch domination, as a combination of strong serving and blocking kept the Warriors from gaining any steam in the final two frames.
A balanced Pella attack was part of the solution one week after all three of those phases struggled against Indianola, as five different Dutch players had at least seven kills. Jasmine Namminga finished with nine blocks (three solo), Meridith Rowe had a pair of service aces and six block assists, and Avey Amelse had her best day thus far for Pella with 11 kills and four assisted blocks. Ella Corbin finished with and Bailey Van Voorst added eight kills.

Abigail Brenizer of Norwalk tallied 11 kills and Noelle Sutcliffe finished with nine for the Warriors.
Pella improves to 7-2 overall and 1-1 overall and heads to the Southeast Polk tournament Saturday; the Warriors fall to 10-5 and are off until a showdown with No. 3 Oskaloosa on Tuesday, September 14th.
