The Warren County track and field teams are getting the indoor season started with speed, as Norwalk and Indianola competed in the Iowa Track and Field Coaches Association State Indoor Meet at Iowa State University.

Claire Farrell, a 2021 state track champion, picked up where she left off in May, winning the 400 meter dash and earning a Drake Relays qualifying bid, as her time of 57.53 broke the Blue Standard. The Warriors finished 5th as a team. Click here for full results from Norwalk.

Indianola placed 9th among the field made up of strong 4A opponents, as fresh off of a heartbreaking end to the basketball season, Emily Naughton and Lauren Blake each started what could be a big bounce back into the track and field season with a pair of 2nd place finishes; Naughton in the 800 meter race (2:24.38), and Blake in the high jump (5-02.00).
