A game that started with a nine-run top of the 1st didn’t end until nearly four hours later for the Pella baseball team as they defeated South Tama 15-12 in the regular season finale Wednesday.

The Dutch had 15 batters come to the plate before the first three outs were recorded, but gave up multiple runs in four of seven innings, including six in the 6th that actually tied the contest before Pella added three scores in the 7th.

Leadoff hitter Isaiah Kettler was 4-for-5 with four runs batted in and a double, Keegan Hansen drove in five runs, and Cole Hillman, Tate Weesner, and Anderson Schirm all tallied a pair of hits.

Pella earned its 20th win of 2022 in the final regular season game, and begins the Class 3A substate playoffs Friday at home vs. Knoxville.
