Seven young women from throughout Jasper County will compete next month for the title of 2026 Jasper County Fair Queen. The entry deadline for the June 13th Queen Contest at the Newton Community Theater was this past Wednesday. The seven contestants are Lindy Bokhoven from Sully, Mackenzie Cupples and Heather Hanson of Newton, Emma Holt of Prairie City, Hayden Lowery of Searsboro, and Seriah Nolin and Gretchen Uitermarkt of Monroe. The runner-up to the Queen will be crowned Jasper County Fair Princess. All Jasper County Fair Queen contestants must be a Jasper County resident or active in a Jasper County club or school, and be between the ages of 16 and 20 by the start of the 2026 Iowa State Fair.
This year’s 171st Jasper County Fair will be held July 17-23 at the fairgrounds in Colfax.
