Indianola’s Kiya Koda Humane Society raised $192,000 at their “Raise the Woof” event last week. The idea behind the fundraiser was to raise money for a brand new animal shelter to build. The plans for the construction are being finalized and will start in the upcoming fall months. The society was close to their goal, but will still work to raise funds, so that they can be debt free when the shelter plans to open next spring.
