Central College went 1-1 at the Indianola Regional of the NCAA softball tournament yesterday, ending their 2026 season.
The Dutch started the day with an 11-5 win over Greenville in the first elimination game, then fell 4-0 to St. Benedict in the finale. Both games were heard live on 92.1 KRLS.
In the first game, Rylee Dunkin led off with a home run, but the Panthers answered with four runs in the bottom of the first inning. Central proceeded to score the next 10 runs from the second through the fifth innings to take control, highlighted by a two-run homer from Addi Star.
The nightcap went scoreless into the seventh inning, when the normally rock solid Central defense committed two errors that led to a four running inning by the Bennies. The Dutch loaded the bases in the bottom of the inning, but couldn’t capitalize.
Central finishes the season at 30-14 with its NCAA record 34th postseason appearance.
