The Pella Christian girls soccer team battled for a 1-1 draw at Van Meter Friday night, while the Class 1A #7 Eagle boys fell to the 1A #9 Bulldogs 3-0 in their regular season finale.

In the girls contest, the Eagles jumped out to the early advantage, as Alaina Wiersma scored on an assist from Tori Van Zee roughly five minutes into the game. Pella Christian maintained that lead into the halftime break, but Van Meter responded with a goal early in the second half to re-tie the game at 1-1. The match was back and forth from there, but neither team found the back of the net as the Eagles moved to 7-6-1 on the season. In a battle of ranked teams in the nightcap, the Pella Christian boys fell behind 2-0 in the first half, and were unable to score en route to falling to 9-6-2 on the year.

The Eagles girls soccer team returns to the pitch on Monday to host Indianola at 5:30 pm, while the boys soccer squad is off until hosting either Mediapolis or WACO in the Class 1A Substate 5 semifinals on Wednesday, May 27th.
