The Indianola girls track and field team won the Saydel Invitational Monday with a combined team score of 229 points. The Indians won the meet by nearly 100 points as the runner-ups finished with 137 team points. Top finishers in the individual running events for Indianola included Madison Grover winning the 100m and 400m hurdles with a times of 15.78 and 1:08.17, Emma White won the 400m run with a time of 59.76, Ady Mason won the 800m run with a time of 2:24.88, Cali Laxton won the 1500m run with a time of 5:02.84.
In the field events, Maya Whalen won the discus with a throw of 121-06, Madison Grover won the long jump with a leap of 16-09.50, and Haley New won the shot put with a throw of 39-08.25.
The relays were successful also with the 800 sprint medley, 4×100, and 4×800 all taking first place. Up next for the Indians is a meet in Osceola on Thursday.
