Mayor Don DeWaard and the Pella City Council recently honored local residents for their contributions to the community. At the most recent Pella City Council meeting, DeWaard read a proclamation for Julio Chiarella, who has served a total of 33 years on the Planning and Zoning Commission.
Additionally, DeWaard and the council recognized members of the Pella Middle School track and field team for winning a Drake Relays championship. Kobe Klein, Joanna VandeVoort, Emmett Manning, and Maechen Cowman won the mixed 4×400 relay.
