The defending 3A baseball champions opened their season against Clear Creek Amana on Wednesday, falling 9-2. Dutch pitching only allowed 6 hits and struck out 12 batters. Pella will next host Carlisle in a varsity doubleheader on Friday.
The Pella girls golf team placed 4th at the IGHSAU Regional in Oskaloosa on Wednesday. The team shot a 384, which ends the season. Leading scores for the Dutch were Moriah Reynolds (88, 10th place), Harper Phillips (94, 17th Place), Carlyn Henry (101), and Izzy Branderhorst (101). The #13 Ranked Lady Dutch finished the spring with a 45-12 record.
Pella’s boys tennis team wrapped up their bid to return to the team state tournament, defeating Nevada 5-2 and falling to Xavier 5-0 on Wednesday.
