
Three Pleasantville varsity athletic teams were in action Monday.
The Pleasantville girls golf team finished third at a home quad at Pleasantville Golf and County Club which also featured Pella, Knoxville, and PCM. The Trojan girls shot 209 as a team at the nine-hole event. The top individual finisher for Pleasantville was Miranda Benge who shot a 46 to finish sixth and Laney Harvey who shot 50 to finish seventh. The Trojan girls golf team will next compete on Thursday at Van Meter.
The Pleasantville girls and boys track and field teams competed at the Van Meter Coed Relays. The Trojan boys finished fourth as a team with 77.5 team points competing against 11 other schools. Top individual finishers for the Pleasantville boys include Ethan King winning the 100 and 200 meter, Will Mesecher taking second in the discus and shot put, Trey Mesecher taking second in the high jump, Trindon Phipps placing third in the long jump, and the 4X400 meter relay placing third.
The Trojan girls placed tied for fifth as a team with 50 team points. Top individual finishers for the Pleasantville girls include the distance medley team taking first, the shuttle hurdle team placing second, and Ryleigh Hardman placing second in the 400 hurdles.
